Modem Installation Guide
Select your apartment community for simple instructions on how to get your modem connected.
What model of Gateway do you have?

Your Apartment Community Has Two Types of Connections.
The first is a Cable Modem, the second is a DSL Gateway and the third is an Ethernet Gateway. Instructions for all three are below. If you need to know what type of Modem and connection you have you can call our Call Center number listed below or contact your leasing office.
Cable Modem Installation
1. Connect your modem to the cable wall plate with a coaxial cable. Make sure all Coax connections are snug.
Loose connections will result in poor service
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem to your device, e.g. router, computer, smart TV.
3. Plug in the power cable.
4. The top three icons and the world icon should illuminate. If a computer is plugged into one of the Ethernet ports, the connectivity icon will illuminate also.
Ethernet Gateway Installation.
- Unpack and install the foot stand so the Gateway stands upright (vertically) for proper ventilation/cooling of the unit.
- Connect the blue WAN port on the Gateway to the blue Ethernet outlet in the front bedroom with an Ethernet cable.
- Connect computer via an Ethernet cable to any of the yellow Ethernet ports.
- Install the power cord into the power port on the Gateway and plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
- Depress the power button (on/off) on the back of the Gateway. Allow 1-2 minutes for unit to power cycle. The top three icons, the world icon should illuminate. If a computer is plugged into one of the four Ethernet ports, that icon will illuminate.
To activate outlets in the living room and second bedroom connect an Ethernet cable (not provided) from any of the yellow Ethernet ports on the gateway to the corresponding Ethernet outlet in the front bedroom
- Middle Ethernet jack is for the second bedroom.
- Bottom Ethernet jack is for the living room.
Wire devices in the living room or second bedroom to the Ethernet outlet with an Ethernet cable (not provided).
Ethernet Gateway Start-up Instructions.
- Unpack and stand gateway upright (vertically) for proper ventilation/cooling of the unit.
- Connect the blue WAN port on the Gateway to the Ethernet outlet in the living room with an Ethernet cable.
- Install the power cord into the power port on the Gateway and plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
- Allow 1-2 minutes for unit to power cycle. The top power icon and the world icon should illuminate.
- You can connect a device with an Ethernet cable (not provided) to one of the yellow ethernet ports on the gateway or connect to WiFi to gain internet access. Your WiFi's network name and password are located on the side of your gateway.
